The Last Of Days

No, this is not a conspiracy journal, or one that's going to elaborate on the far-fetched theories in Dan Brown's novels. Dan, don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan, but..

:star:

I was, as I'm sure you've done, observing my recent visitors and a catchy username caught my eye. I'm not sure what made me click, but heck, I'm glad I did!

A new-ish and 'Experimental' artist, this fellow Deviant seems to be a photographer after my own heart. Along with some spectacular scenic landscapes that are thriving with colour and detail, there's the haunting monochromatic Macro images, and these are, of course, what caught my eye.
With the onset of Winter, I can't think of a more appropriate feature :)

Or if, like me, you've decided you just can't take the threat of ice, the harsh winds and the dropping temperatures, here's something to warm your hands on;

Another one! D:

I've received another Daily Deviation! :heart:
Ooohhh thankyou all so much!

My parents were visiting for the day, so I've literally only just logged on and ahhh!
>:D
Thankyou :aww:
Awwwww this is wonderful!

First I found an R.A.F Standard..dress..jacket pilotthingdadhelpmeouthere to go with my R.A Footlocker and my army boots, I found one of my favourite-but-until-now-unpurchased books for 50p, and now this! Ohhh *squealwigglepop*

Lace Me Up

I regret to say that I really don't know, or rather, can't remember which lens I was using; this photograph was taken..quite a long time ago. I'm hazarding a guess that it was my first Nikon DSLR, but Heaven knows what the lens was.

But again, thankyou all so much :)

"October is Self-Promotion month! With that in mind I'm encouraging you to post a deviantART journal
on your profile that serves as an artistic bio or a statement of purpose."

Who are you?
I'm Rowenna, a name commonly abbreviated to 'wenna', 'ro', and 'row'. 20 years old, born and bred in England. A lot of you knew me before I moved to Banbury - don't ask me where it is, even I'm not entirely sure - from when I lived down in Sussex with my parents, had terrific insomnia and spent 23 hours a day on this forsaken wonderful site, rambling and webcam-ing the night away with =BlackSatechi :B (Felix says Hi!)

I have a BTEC National Diploma in Graphic Design and Illustration from Northbrook College in Sussex, naturally Ginger hair, a wonderful boyfriend {:heart:} and have a passion for many things, including but not limited to Tesco Value chocolate spread, cigarettes, singing, leather, Harley Davidson and BSA bikes and opera music.

What is your artistic passion?
To be honest, I'm not sure what this means - or rather, should include. The more simple route would be to say Photography; apparently my dad's old film camera was a wee fascination of mine when I was little, and just before I started college, I picked up a crappy little olympus pocket camera, discovered the macro function (and then the super-macro- ohmigosh!) and it's all just kicked off from there.
Graphic design (particularly Typography) is another passion, but since losing Illustrator off the computer it's dimished somewhat.

Why did you get into art?
...why not?
Seriously, I really don't know. I'm naturally creative, was always getting in trouble at school for doodling all over my text books, scribbling 'tattoo's' on my friends during the lunch break, and so when I left school, going for an art-related college course just seemed the way to go.

How do you inspire yourself?
Lately, inspirations been running extremely low due to me working evening shifts - lack of energy has never done wonders for it - and the fact that I'm waking up in the middle of a large town, rather than on the brink of the countryside, which was 99% of my inspiration before I relocated.
Anything can inspire me though; anything as deep as human emotion, to the spider I've just splatted with a magazine.

Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years?
Photography has never really appealed to me professionally, so I'm not sure what career I'll end up with, and at just 20, I'll admit I'm willing to experiment a bit.
I'm going to go something extremely corny, and apologise to you all for this;
Happy, and loved. That's all I want to see myself in 5 years :3

*squish*

When it comes to personal websites, or outside portfolios, I don't have anything relating to my art.
However, I do adore modern technology and, like many people, do have MySpace and Facebook, and can be contacted through either of those (you'll have to ask me for them, but..)

I'm baaaaaaccckk!

*title should be said aloud in a perfect imitation of almighty Steven Tyler >:D*

'aight, works a total bitch and my pub social life is a bit shit at the moment now that the brainboxes have gone back to Uni, but I'm holding up just fine :)

My photography's been getting a wee bit of attention in the past few weeks, and I could be doing the following within the next year;(but nothing is definitely i'm-GOING-to-do-this-look-at-me-i'm-innnn! confirmed, so take the following pinpoints lightly! D:)

• Working with my boyfriend's band - as in, the band that my boyfriend is in, not HIS band - on the artwork for their upcoming LP.

• Photoshoot with the aforementioned band.

• Well, this one is definitely confirmed, we just need to get the right conditions and it needs to be finished before I can do anything, but..I'm going to be getting up, close and personal with my boyfriends Ford Escort(or..not so close, because I'll be whipping out my wideangle and he'll be taking on the local corners at speeds exceeding 70mph and then I'll probably be doing a spectacular-rally-photographer-esque--leap-into-the-bushes.)

• Possible publicity shots for the new (we're looking at 6+ months.) premises of a friends home business. At least, that's what I managed to get out of him at the bus stop yesterday.

" " "

And I know I'm a bit late, and I've been expressing myself by incessantly shouting 'WHAT THE FUCKING BLOODY SHITTING HELL WERE THEY THINKING?!' (pardon the french) everytime I've thought of it, but;

Die!

I want to cry. And vomit. And kick a cat. Ok, scratch the last one, but not only have they, yet again, torn up the whole personality of the original Mini and scattered it into the winds never to be seen again, but now they're just taking the piss out of the Ford Puma, and I like that car! D: BMW, I shall take a shovel to the face of your company and hire someone to piss on your mangled remains. You utter wankers.

A more refined approach.

I updated last time in a bit of a frenzy, so to keep my mind off the fact that there's a large, dead spider somewhere near my feet, I'm giving this another shot :D

I'd like to extend hugs to all the people that fav'd, commented, recommended or peeped at my work while I was absent, but sadly, I don't have enough arms, so a simple 'Thankyou! :heart:' will have to do :}

I do have the internet on a day-to-day basis now, but I'm lacking an..incredible amount of inspiration. Being cooped up in a basement in a town center - as opposed to the semi-countryside - does have its disadvantages.
Also, I start work next..Thursday, and given that I'm working from 3 - 10pm on weekdays, I'm probably not going to want to wander several miles out of town to take a few photographs D: Nevertheless, if I do find something to throw a few frames at, you'll be the first to know :3

On another note, I don't have the required amount of dedication and focus to feedback on the some 500 deviations coming into my Inbox every week, but I'm getting there! I do still love you guys! D:
